Pregnancy is a special state of a woman’s body. In this period, all the thoughts and feelings of the expectant mother are connected with it somehow. It is worth recalling that the body of the embryo consists of water by 95%. The unborn child is surrounded by amniotic fluid, which is why its health and condition directly depends on what the mother eats and drinks.
Doctors do not recommend expectant mothers to drink coffee, various teas (except for standard black and green) and various juices (especially citrus fruits). It’s impossible to drink everything that can cause an allergy. It’s necessary to pay special attention to possible allergies. In case of allergies, you should immediately consult a doctor and exclude foods that cause allergies. But the safest option for fluid intake is physiologically complete water. It is good if mineral water is included in the diet of a woman (but mineral water can be included in the diet after consulting a doctor). Especially it helps with toxicosis, heartburn and similar problems. But it’s a doctor who must advise the kind of mineral water to be consumed by expectant mother. The water should be drunk strictly on the recommendation.
In the last trimester, it is necessary to ensure that the amount of water with food and drink that has entered is comparable with the amount that leaves the body. It is necessary to prevent swelling. And if it occurs, you need to consult a doctor for advice.
Advice for all expectant mothers: please do not risk your health and health of your children – drink water that is physiologically full and always of high quality! Eliminate tap water. It is accepted as drinking, however, many chemical compounds dissolved in such water are very poorly controlled or even aren’t determined. So choose bottled water in advance, before pregnancy. Try to feel which water suits you best.
Now let’s move on to the topic of water for children. Pure clean water should be given to children starting from 4 months, if the baby is breast-fed. But if the baby is on artificial feeding, then it is necessary to give baby drinking water with such food. Infants need for fluid up to 100 ml per day and in summer 1.5 times more. Many mothers make a serious mistake if they leave water in the bowl. In the warm period, water left for 1-2 hours in the drinking bowl (this time is enough to cause pathogens harmful to health in the water) can cause discomfort in the child, and sometimes poisoning. Moms need to rinse the bowl each time with water and pour a small amount of fresh water. After the child drank, excess water must be drained.
But preschoolers and schoolchildren already need up to 2 liters of water per day, and it is necessary to ensure that the water consumption corresponds to the level of activity of the child.
So what kind of water can be called child’s water?
To do this, we need to check with the sanitary-epidemiological rules and standards.
Excerpt from the sanitary-epidemiological rules and standards of SanPiN 2.1.4.1116-02 “Drinking water. Hygienic requirements for the quality of water packaged in containers. Quality control”
“Pre-packaged water for the preparation of baby food (with artificial feeding of children) must comply with standard values for the main indicators of water of the highest category, as well as the following additional requirements:
– the use of silver and carbon dioxide as preservatives is not allowed;
– the content of fluoride ion should be in the range of 0.6 – 0.7 mg / l;
– the content of iodide ion should be in the range of 0.04 – 0.06 mg / l. ”
The quality of water is very much dependent on the quality of the bottles. Of course, water is best stored in glass bottles. The water in a polycarbonate bottle is slightly worse – in this case, at the bottom of the bottle you can see number “7” in triangle. Other types of plastic are suitable, but potentially dangerous, especially for PET (figure “1” in triangle at the bottom) and PVC (figure “3” in triangle at the bottom).
Be sure to check the expiration date of the water and the storage conditions of the water. Water should be stored in a cool place without direct sunlight. Water in a plastic bottle must not be heated!
We recommend using proven water for both mothers and children – SiENERGY water. This water fully meets all the requirements for consumers such as children and pregnant women.
