An international group of scientists conducted a study of tap water on all continents. The goal of scientists: to find out how much tap water is contaminated with microparticles of plastic. Studies have shown that in more than 80% of centralized sources of water supply, water is supplied to consumers with plastic particles smaller than 0.2 mc (particles below this size are invisible to the unaided eye of a person). Plastic is in tap water because small size of the plastic particles does not allow to effectively filter them. When heated, the plastic particles begin to release various chemical compounds into the water, which adversely affects the quality of the water.
