The water tower, where the Izhevsk Water Museum is located, is an architectural monument of regional importance. It’s recorded in the register of historical and architectural monuments as an object of historical and cultural heritage of Udmurt Republic.
This is the first Izhevsk water tower and the oldest hydraulic engineering structure in the city of Izhevsk. Built in the style of brick neo-Gothic in 1915, it is a monument of industrial architecture. In 2015 the tower turned 100 years old.
The Water Museum in Izhevsk is a unique project of creative people. The Water Museum is a dynamic structure filled with nature, emotions and human relationships. The Museum constantly updates its exposition and therefore it sticks out among other museums of water. Due to creative solutions, the Museum gives to people a sence of importance of water and its problems through emotions and sensations. In addition, the Museum of Water in Izhevsk is a historical and thematic exhibition site of the “Cultural Quarter”, where originality of space and history of the city-factory are echoed. This is a unique phenomenon in cultural life of Izhevsk.
